The Breville BJE200XL 700-Watt Compact Juice Fountain is the entry-level model from Breville’s prestigious juicer range. It prides itself as being one of the best selling centrifugal juicers in recent years and it’s easy to see why. Its low price combined with its stylish looks, compact design, powerful 700-watt motor and large feed chute, has made the Juice Fountain a consumer favourite.

One of the key differences of this model in comparison to the higher-end Breville juicers is that the pulp is left inside the juicer instead of being ejected into a removable pulp container. This makes the Juice Fountain a juicer geared towards those who only want to juice in relatively low volumes.

Compact Design

The compact design of the Breville BJE200XL has been a huge contributor to its success. With dimensions of just 9.5” x 8.8” x 16” this Juice Fountain will tuck away nicely in the corner of your kitchen worktop without taking up too much space.

700-watt motor

The 700-watt motor inside the Juice Fountain runs at an impressive 14,000 RPM and provides enough power to make light work of the hardest fruits and vegetables.

Wide 3-inch feed tube

The generously sized 3-inch feed tube allows you to fit most produce straight in the tube without slicing them up. However, medium to large sized fruits will need to be cut up first, but on the whole prep work is kept to a minimum.

The feeding tube is cleverly located directly over the cutter and micro-mesh filter, which increases the stability of the machine. To achieve the best extraction rate from your produce we recommend you push down the plunger nice and slowly.

Cleaning

Cleaning the Breville BJE200XL is an easy task, providing you do it straight after juicing. The included cleaning brush has a spatula at the end of it which is very handy for getting into the nooks and crannies of the parts to remove all the pulp.

PROS AND CONS OF THE BREVILLE BJE200XL 700-WATT COMPACT JUICE FOUNTAIN

Pros

The Juice Fountain is smartly designed; compact and powerful enough to juice hard produce at a rapid speed, making it ideal for those with a busy lifestyle.

It is fairly quiet in operation considering it’s a centrifugal juicer, emitting a sound level similar to that of a standard food blender.

As with all Breville Juicers, assembly is quick and easy so novice users will not get frustrated putting it together.

Low price. From a price/performance comparison, the Juice Fountain is a bargain.

Easy to clean.

The manual comes with a range of juicing recipes, which is particularly handy if this is your first juicer.

Cons

The fact that the pulp container is integrated into the machine rather than externally attached means that you can make only about 2-3 glasses of juice in one juicing session before you have to clean out the pulp from inside the machine.

Due to the high power of the machine and the central position of the feed tube over the cutter, sometimes juice comes out of the feed tube whilst juicing which can cause quite a mess. However, you can avoid this happening by covering your hand over the feeding tube after putting the produce in.

It doesn’t do a good job of juicing berries due to the lack of variable speed settings allowing you to switch to a slow speed, which results in a mess with juice spraying out. If you intend on juicing berries, we recommend you get the Breville Ikon which features 5-speed settings.

JUICER REVIEWS FINAL THOUGHTS ON THE BREVILLE BJE200XL 700-WATT COMPACT JUICE FOUNTAIN

The Breville BJE200XL 700-Watt Compact Juice Fountain Review is excellent value and a fine entry-level juicer. However, being an entry-level model it does have some limitations which you should bear in mind.

The fact it only features one speed setting will be a drawback if you intend to juice a lot of softer fruits because it results in a very wet pulp. For juicing this type of produce we recommend one of the higher models which feature multiple-speeds such as the Breville BJE510XL Ikon.

As the pulp is self-contained inside the machine, it doesn’t provide continuous juicing, therefore if you intend to juice for a larger family it would be much more convenient if you purchase a self-ejecting juicer such as Breville’s next model up – the Juice Fountain Plus.

That being said, this juicer is a stellar choice for those starting out and will suit most people who don’t juice in large quantities.
